I have
searched a lot about insteon and there are several definitions and complex
explanations are available on internet . So I have just consolidated all the
things and made it easy to understand .
Insteon is a Home automation networking technology ,which
connects all the home automation devices throuth Powerlines, Radio frequency(RF)
or Both .In Insteon , All devices are connected via dual band mesh network
topology. In this peer to peer communication is followed and each device act as
a controller, Unlike other in which there was only a central controller. Each
device is capable of sending , receiving and repeating messages. In was
invented by Smartlabs . Inteoan is also a name of the company which that
develops insteon technology . in gives contribution in the field of HVAC
Bluetooth radio has too short a range, WiFi radio is too
expensive, and high-speed powerline protocols are far too complex to be built
into commodity products such as light switches, door locks, or thermostats.
